Today I am giving you something a little different; a true story.  This is an enlightening article from Maptia, about The Kingdom of Bantar Gebang.  Sometimes we need to give a little- money, time, a re-tweet about a good cause- whatever you can do, and this story needs to be shared.  If you are so inclined, follow Maptia, as they produce astounding photo-stories and will give you so much more knowledge of places around the world.

LOGO Cunning CrowThis next item is a shameless plug for my new writing project, The Cunning Crow.  If you love reading Fantasy and Sci-Fi you might like this! It is a fantasy fan-fic Newspaper, reporting on fantastical news from a city hidden just outside Kamloops, BC.  Please take a moment to go check it out!

Lastly, This is a re-telling of the Snow White story, which I rather liked, but, then again, who doesn’t like re-tellings of fairytales?

It’s finally here!

The writing/art project I have been working on for months now!

The Cunning Crow: Your best source of local, multiverse, and planetary news in Central British Columbia.

The Cunning Crow is a fantasy fan-fic creation, reporting on fantastical news from a city hidden just outside Kamloops, BC, called Umbra.

Included is a helpful guide Explanations to Help Understand the World (last page of publication), and citations/sources are HERE

I really hope you enjoy the world I have created! I aim to create a few of these papers, but it will take a while between each issue as I am still learning to write better and use Photoshop AND I have a new baby.

I have uploaded it to Issue, from there you can flip through it like a newspaper/magazine and even download it there!

If you would like to be SUPER AWESOME FABULOUS you can help support this publication by ordering art prints here.  They are the ads that I created for the newspaper as stickers or art prints.

Ok, I am done my Fantasy world Newspaper  and have begun the editing process, which, honestly, has been a lot of procrastinating for me.  I just want to post it already, but every time I start working on it…. my brain stops working. I akin it to Homers focus. Side note: while looking for this picture I found someone had made an entire post of Homers thoughts, lol. Awesome. maxresdefault

Anyway, here’s the collection of teaser images I have posted here or on my Twitter, and hopefully soon you will be reading the finished product. I think I am going to make it JPG or PDF’s and load it onto Deviant Art for people to read/download. The Newspaper, The Cunning Crow, reports on the hidden magical (fairy-tale characters/legends/beasts/mythological beings, alt-Earths, Planets, etc) city from a location outside of Kamloops, British Columbia.

Variant is the name of the Fantasy Beings of Canada- This is the Canadian Gov. Logo

I’m going to have a cheat sheet for people so its not too confusing. It is rather hard to explain how things work via a newspaper, but I try really hard.

Anyway, send me productivity vibes!!

This Sunday, I am sending you to a novelette by Wil Wheaton.  I am a ridiculously big fan of Wil Wheaton, who is always so honest and open about writing and creating art. I highly recommend following him online. ALSO, he read this amazing story online a while back about the Cecil Hotel that was so engrossing.

Technically neither of these things are Short Stories, but close enough LOL!! Plus, the Cecil Hotel reading is wonderful to play in the background while you are working, OR save it for a dark dreary rainy day…..

Happy Reading! ~ Trish

writing-picture-short-story-sundaySunday Short Stories is a weekly post that shares some of the best short stories out in the ‘verse.

WOOPS, so I am still a day behind with my short stories and Poetry Send Off!

But on a good note, the Roland the Brave short story adventures is chugging along.  The Husband got his first read through of the first 2 stories, and the 3rd one is coming along nicely. But now I have a bunch of other projects bubbling up, new and old, and I am getting so distracted! Bah!  Anyway, here are my quick picks for short stories this week.

Out of Eden has been a lifeline for me. It is what I read at night feedings (every 2 hrs :S ) and it just transports you right into these places that Paul Salopek is strolling through. His writing is so beautiful, I re-read paragraphs 2-3 times just to take it in sometimes.

I also do a Poetry Send Off , which is a weekly post published on a Friday, so that you can be sent off for the weekend with a new poem to wow your friends/family/date with. It may also cause deep conversations or friendly arguments over what the hell it means.
